Bruch] [ Nyctelia / 4-carinata / Tipo Fairm. (handwritten by Bruch)] [ Nyctelia / quadricarinata Fm. n. sp. (handwritten by Fairmaire)] [ Lectotypus / Nyctelia quadricarinata / Fairmaire, 1905 / Des. One paralectotype same data as lectotype , with a small difference in the label handwritten by Fairmaire: [ Nyctelia / 4-carinata Fm. n. sp.] and [ Paralectotypus / Nyctelia quadricarinata / Fairmaire, 1905 / Des. G. Flores 2006 ] ( MACN ). Note: Flores (2007: 423) designated lectotype and paralectotype . Holotype of Nyctelia roigi ( Fig. 2 ): [Rio Negro/ Paso Flores / III-63 (pro 1963)] [ Holotypus ] [ Nyctelia / roigi / mihi] [ Holotypus / Nyctelia / roigi / Marcuzzi, 1977 ] [Museo Genova/ coll. G. Marcuzzi/ (acquisto 2000)] ( MSNG ). Discussion. Characters given by Marcuzzi (1977) in his description of Nyctelia roigi are the same traits studied here in the lectotype of N. quadricarinata ( Figs. 1–2 ): pronotum transverse, with the lateral margins sinuate towards the base, posterior angles prominent, base bisinuate, elytra with three equidistant, raised carinae, oblique towards the apex, pseudopleuron wider than intercostal spaces. Marcuzzi (1977) stated two differences between N. roigi and N. quadricarinata , namely: the position of the two elytral carinae and the absence of transverse grooves on the external intercostal space of elytra in N. roigi . The position of the two elytral carinae is the same in the types of both nominal species, being the internal intercostal space wider than the others ( Figs. 1–2 ); for the transverse grooves on the external intercostal space, the holotype of N. roigi is a female, in which the elytra are vaulted and almost smooth, while the lectotype and paralectotype of N. quadricarinata are males, in which the elytra are plain and with slightly marked, short, transverse grooves on the external intercostal space ( Figs. 1–2 ).
