Rostrum short, spinelike, reaches the base of cornea in females, more elongate in males, dorsal and ventral margins unarmed, ventral margin faintly convex. Basal segment of antennular peduncle with stylocerite short and acute, not reaches the halfway the segment, without anterolateral spine. Scaphocerite reduced to minute oval form. Mandible without palp and with incisor process reduced. First pair of pereopod overreaching the antennular peduncle with part of carpus, fingers smaller than palm. Second pair of pereopods unequal in shape and size. Major pereopod overreaching the antennular peduncle with the chela. Minor pereopod overreaching the antennular peduncle with part of carpus, finger smaller than palm, cutting edge of dactylus with a strong tooth on proximal part and fixed finger with elongate lobe. Third to fifth pereopods with bifid dactyli. Abdomen with all somites rounded. Telson with 2 pairs of dorsal spines and 3 pairs of spines on posterior margin. Distribution. Western Atlantic: USA (Florida), Mexico (Bahia de La Ascensión ), Cuba (Los Arroyos), Brazil (Pernambuco) ( Figure 22 ). ( Chace, 1972 ; Coelho et al ., 2006). Material examined. None.
