Chthonius rhodochelatus
is usually found in soil and leaf litter and a single specimen was found accidentally in a fallen bird’s nest (
Gardini 2004
;
Turienzo et al. 2010
). The present discovery of the species under a stone corresponds to its known habitat preferences.
