Figs 52–55 , 56–59 , 64–67 . Diagnosis . Antennal scrobes join below frontal suture (Figs 56, 57); flagellomeres short and stout (Figs 54, 55), e.g. female 1st flagellomere 1.8× as long as wide and male 3rd flagellomere 0.9× as long as wide; male scape 2.8× as long as wide and predominantly metallic (Fig. 55); forewing speculum open below; scutellum convex (Fig. 58); first gastral tergite in female with median ⅓ with punctures. Similar to H. missouriensis , but differs from this species as described in the key, and in having propodeum with smaller propodeal spiracles (Fig. 67), smaller and more strongly reticulate anterolateral foveae (Fig. 67), and a wider median carina (Fig. 67); also similar to H. bruchophagus but differs in both sexes in having head and mesosoma golden-green (Fig. 53) (black with metallic tinges in H. bruchophagus ). Description . FEMALE. Length 0.9–1.1 mm . Scape yellowish-brown with apical ¼ dark brown with metallic tinges; pedicel and flagellum metallic bluish-green. Frons golden-green. Vertex golden-green. Mesosoma goldengreen, propodeum with smooth parts golden-green, reticulate parts metallic dark purple. Coxae golden-green; femora, tibiae and tarsi yellowish-white. Wings hyaline. Petiole metallic dark purple. Gaster with first tergite golden-green in anterior ¼, metallic dark purple in posterior ¾; remaining tergites metallic dark purple. FIGURES 56–59. Horismenus stator sp. nov. ; 56, head frontal, female; 57, head frontal, male; 58, mesosoma dorsal, female; 59, gaster dorsal, female. Antenna as in Fig. 54 . Frons with interscrobal area smooth, clypeal area and part just above frontal suture with raised and weak reticulation, remaining parts with raised and strong reticulation; frontal suture V-shaped, incomplete not reaching eyes; antennal scrobes join below frontal suture. Vertex with engraved and strong reticulation; with a median groove in posterior part, groove continues down on occiput. Occipital margin rounded. Mesoscutum with raised and strong reticulation; notauli as narrow and distinct grooves medially. Scutellum with engraved and strong reticulation. Dorsellum smooth, anterolaterally with two large foveae. Coxae smooth and shiny. Propodeum smooth and shiny, posterolateral parts, submedian grooves and anterolateral foveae reticulate; propodeal callus with two setae. Forewing speculum open below, closed in some specimens; with 15–17 admarginal setae. FIGURES 60–67. Horismenus spp. 60–63. H. missouriensis (Ashmead) , female; 60, vertex; 61, head lateral; 62, antenna lateral; 63, propodeum dorsal. 64–67. Type material . Holotype female labelled “ USA , Arizona , Colossal Cave , 1045 m , vii.2009 , ex. Stator sp. on Parkinsonia microphyllum ”, in NHM . Paratypes . 22♀ 11♂ mounted on cards. USA : Arizona : with same label data as holotype ( 1♀ 2♂ , NHM ) ; from same locality as holotype but collected vii.2008 ( 17♀ , MZLU , NHM )); Picacho Peak, 600 m , from Parkinsonia microphyllum with two species of Stator ” ( 4♀ 9♂ , MZLU , NHM ). Etymology . Named after host. Molecular data . Horismenus stator equals “HM1” in Kenyon et al. (2015) and molecular data associated with “HM1” is accounted for in that paper.
