The only species in the genus was described from
India
, West Bengal, but has subsequently been reported from
Thailand
and
Malaysia
(Ng
et al.
2014) as well as the Society Islands in the Pacific Ocean (
Hoddle
et al.
2008b
). However, no information is available concerning the biology and host plant of this species. Within the
Scirtothrips
genus-group it is unique in lacking ocellar setae pair I, the usual pair of pre-ocellar setae (Ng
et al.
2014).
