(2002) synonymyzed Paramanicocoris Lima, Hathaway & Seabra, 1948 , under Manicocoris Stål, 1866 , so the genus now contains two species: M. rufipes and M. rubroniger ( Lima, Hathaway & Seabra, 1948 ). M. rufipes was described from French Guiana and recorded additionally from Colombia , Guyana , and Brazil ( Maldonado 1990 ; Gil­Santana et al . 2002 , 2003). This species is restricted to the Amazon basin, and it seems to be associated with Caesalpiniaceae species ( Bérenger & Pluot­Sigwalt 1997 ). Precise localities from Colombia are given for the first time.
