) but is now known to be widespread in the Neotropics on a variety of plants (Williams & Granara de Willink, 1988b). It has previously been recorded from
New Caledonia

Vanuatu

Western Samoa
in the tropical South Pacific. In
Fiji
, it was collected on

Levu, Suva, Thurston Gardens,

, on an unknown plant. It is a polyphagous species which might become economically significant.
