Genus
Brooklynella
Lom & Nigrelli, 1970
Although the
type
species
Brooklynella hostilis
has been characterized in detail (
Lom & Nigrelli 1970
), the genus, in our opinion, has not been clearly circumscribed. Based on the data available, an improved definition of the genus is here supplied.
Improved diagnosis for
Brooklynella
:
Hartmannulidae
with a definitive podite, of which the base is located at posterior ventral portion of cell, but not surrounded by somatic kineties; postoral and left kineties considerably shorter than right kineties, terminate at about the same level of postequator rather than progressively posteriorly shortened.
