Colonies are red colored after 3 days of incubation on R2 A at 25° C. In the BIOLOG GEN III test, positive for pH 6, α -D-glucose, D-mannose, D-fructose, gelatin, tetrazolium blue, nalidixic acid, and aztreonam; and weak positive dextrin, D-maltose, D-trehalose, D-cellobiose, gentiobiose, sucrose, D-turanose, α -D-lactose, D-melibiose, β -methyl-D-glucoside, D-salicin, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-galactose, L-fucose, minocycline, glucuronamide, vancomycin, tetrazolium violet, and potassium tellurite. In the API 20NE test, positive for esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, D-glucose, D-mannose, and D-maltose; weak positive for N -acetyl-D-glucosamine; but negative for reduction of nitrates (NO 3 ) to nitrite (NO 2 - ), reduction of nitrates (NO 3 ) to nitrogen (N 2 ), indole production on tryptophan, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, L-arabinose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. In the API 32GN test, positive for D-saccharose (sucrose), D-maltose, glycogen, D-glucose, D-melibiose and salicin, but negative for L-rhamnose, D-ribose, inositol, itaconic acid, suberic acid, sodium malonate, sodium acetate, lactic acid, L-alanine, potassium 5-ketogluconate, 3-hydroxybenzoic acid, L-serine, D-mannitol, D-fucose, D-sorbitol, L-arabinose, propionic acid, capric acid, valeric acid, trisodium citrate, L-histidine, potassium 2-ketogluconate, 3-hydroxybutyric acid, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, and L-proline. Strain BT100 (= NIBRBAC000501831) was isolated from a soil sample, Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do , Korea .
