Type :— BRAZIL . Parà : “In campis ad fluvium Maracà Guyanae brasiliensis”, 1896, Guedes 576 ( lectotype , designated here , RB! [ RB00436823 ] ; isolectotypes in G! [ G00357094 ]). [= Luehea paniculata Mart. ] Huber worked in Herbarium MG where his collection is kept, along with duplicates in other herbaria ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976 –1988: 353). In the protologue of L. parvifolia only the Guedes 576 collection is cited without specifying an herbarium, but we found specimens in G and RB. Therefore, according to Art. 9.3 of the ICN, we designate herein Guedes 576 (RB00436823) as the lectotype by choosing the most representative specimen among the traced original material and one that also best represents the protologue’s description. Based on the type materials, the application of the name L. parvifolia is confirmed as a heterotypic synonym of L. paniculata , as previously accepted by Ducke (1922) .
