Features : Diameter 40–60 μm, transapical costae 8 in 10 μm. Description : Valves suborbicular with round corners. Marginal costae occupy one third of the valve face. Median part rectangular with round corners and costae appear as extensions of the marginal ones. Axial rea narrow and shorter than the median area. Ecology and Distribution: This species was originally reported from Australia and seem to be more distributed in the southern Hemisphere. Known from the Red Sea ( Desikachary 1988 ) and China ( Liu 2008 ). Not reported previously from the Gulf. Rare in Basra corals.
