Presumed holotype sampled genetically by Kehlmaier et al. (2019) . Chelodina novaehollandiae Duméril & Bibron 1835:443 Syntypes (2): MNHN 6969 and 9405 (according to Roux-Esteve 1979:29 ). MNHN 6969 erroneously recorded as holotype by Cogger et al. (1983:61) and Georges & Thomson (2010:15) . According to Bour (in Cann 1998:55 ) and Cann & Sadlier (2017:18) , this is a substitute name for C. longicollis and therefore the holotype is BMNH 1947.3.5.86, and the MNHN specimens are not types.
