The species is easily recognized by the following characters: the male antenna is dentate and fasciculate; the vertex is white; the hind tarsus of the male is about two-fifths to one-half the length of the tibia; the ocellus of the forewing is rounded, consists of a silvery inner ring which is complete before M3, two black patches on both sides of CuA1, and strip-like white discal spot; the ocellus of the hind wing is oval, and contains a slivery inner ring which is opened at anterior part; the postmedial lines of both wings are band-like and dark grey; the postmedial lines and inner submarginal spots of the underside of both wings are conspicuous.
