Río de la Plata basin and rio São Francisco basin. Remarks. Piabarchus stramineus was identified as B. stramineus by Graça, Pavanelli (2007) . Thomaz et al. (2015) , in a molecular phylogeny of the Stevardiinae , proposed the new combination.
