Opinion: This species does occur in the region but its true identity is uncertain.
Justification:
Literature analysis
: Originally described as
Acis rigida
, only the colony and branch fragment were illustrated so the species is essentially unidentifiable.
Kükenthal (1924)
reassigned the species to the genus
Paracis
but species of that genus have thornscales in the calyces and not spindles as stated in the original description.
Rao & Devi (2003)
just listed it under the original name.
