Length: m# 2.7–2.8 mm. Ground color of body yellowish-green ( Fig. 69 ). Crown with light yellow patch on each side of coronal suture ( Fig. 66 ). Eyes brown. Pronotum with irregular patches on anterior margin of pronotum and under eyes. Forewing and hindwing semitransparent. Abdomen light yellow. Legs light yellow to green ( Fig. 68 ). Ventral abdominal apodemes well developed, reaching segment 5, parallel-sided to broadly rounded apices ( Fig. 27 ). Pygofer in lateral view broadly rounded on posterior margin, ornamented with 18–20 rigid setae distributed from outer to inner face ( Fig. 26 ); pygofer appendage in lateral view bent dorsad and nearly straight in distal half except abruptly narrowed and slightly sinuate near apex, exceeding pygofer margin, apex acute and excavated ( Fig. 32 ). Anal appendage stout, broad at base, tapering to apex, nearly straight ( Fig. 28 ). Subgenital plate in lateral view, curved gradually caudodorsad apically, tapering to rounded apex; with numerous macrosetae and fine setae somewhat irregularly scattered; dorsolateral margin group A with 4–5 long stout setae sub-basally, group B with 22–24 short microsetae on apical 2/3 ( Fig. 34 ). Paramere with 6–7 teeth on dentifer, 7–9 setae subapically ( Fig. 33 ). Connective longer than broad, posterior margin medially emarginate, median anterior lobe small but distinct ( Fig. 29 ). Aedeagus in lateral view with preatrium long, with numerous rugae on shaft margin from lateral view ( Figs. 30, 31 ). Gonopore terminal. FIGURES 26–34. Empoasca ( Empoasca ) dahaopingensis , 26, male pygofer, lateral view; 27, abdominal apodemes; 28, anal tube appendage; 29, connective; 30, aedeagus, ventral view; 31, aedeagus, lateral view; 32, pygofer appendage; 33, paramere; 34, subgenital plate. Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the location “Dahaoping” in Yunnan Province (S.W. China ) where the holotype of the new species was collected. Diagnosis: This species is similar to Empoasca yubocola Dworakowska, 1977a , but differs in having the aedeagal shaft with numerous rugae on the margin in lateral view and the apex of the pygofer appendage being extended and apex acute and excavated.
