Relation to host.
Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology.
The specific designation
songxianensis
is from the place where the host plant and the mite were found, Yang County.
Remarks.
This species is similar to
Aculops sophorae
Kuang, 1989
, but can be differentiated by coxal area with short lines (coxal area with granules in
A. sophorae
), empodium 9rayed (empodium 7rayed in
A
.
sophorae
), dorsal annuli with spiny microtubercles (dorsal annuli smooth in
A. sophorae
) and different prodorsal shield designs.
