Antennae short, located approximately one-third from base of rostrum; scape short, almost subequal to first funicular segment; funicle 5-segmented, segment 1 equal to 2 and 3 combined, segments 2-5 dorso-ventrally compressed, subequal size and shape; club short, elliptical, as long as segments 2-5 combined, shiny, appearing 1-segmented, apex with clump of medially directed elongate, stout, stramineous setae. Hypostomal tooth pronounced. Proventriculus not dissected.

Komada &amp; Tagane in having reddish brown to grayish brown branches with dense lenticels, and white petals with appendages, but distinguished by the leathery (vs. thinly chartaceous) leaf blade with fewer pairs of secondary veins (6-8 pairs vs. 11-15 pairs), and flowers borne on leafless nodes of the basal part of current branch (vs. in leaf axils) with longer pedicels (1-1.5 cm vs. 5.2-7 mm) and sub-rectangular petal appendage (vs. bilobed appendage with each lobe consisting of a short anterior auricle and a large posterior auricle). Genital apodeme usually visible as a narrow dark band in ventral view, but sometimes appearing to constitute a pair of subtriangular structures, depending on the position of the focus; spermathecal apparatus moderate distance from apodeme; with 4 coxigenital semiannuli anterior to coverflap, with genital opening somewhat appressed to coxisternum II.</paragraph>

Seta h1 absent, h2 38-53. Female genitalia (Fig. 2 GF, IG): 8-9, 18-20 wide, coverflap with 8-12 longitudinal ridges in each of two transverse rows, setae 3a 4-6, 11-13 apart. Internal genital apodemes usually visible as a narrow dark band in ventral view (Fig. 2 IG), but sometimes appearing to constitute a pair of subtriangular structures (Fig. 2 IG), depending on the position of the focus; spermathecal apparatus at moderate distance from apodeme.
