Pfeiffer did not state on how many specimens his description was based, but described &quot;from the collection of H. Cuming&quot;. Although on the label has been written in a later hand &quot;none quite like fig.&quot;, the type status is not disputed as the shell height matches the original data. The top of the largest specimen, herein figured, is damaged. Also the top of one of the other specimens is damaged. The protoconch of the third, undamaged, specimen is smooth.
