Head higher than long, with 2 pairs of orbital and 3 pairs of frontal setae; ocellar seta well developed; face slightly projecting at lower margin; first flagellomere dorsoapically acute; arista plumose. Scutum with presutural and postsutural lateral yellow vittae present or absent; pleura yellow or fulvous to fuscous with or without an anepisternal stripe; scutellum yellow. Wing without distinct brown streaks in cells br, bm and bcu; pattern banded, costal band present or absent; bands brown;. Mid tibia with 1 apical spine. Abdomen fulvous to black, often with pale bands but without bands of whitish pubescence. Male with abdominal tergum II enlarged, not or weakly expanded over sides of tergum III. Epandrium continuous with lateral surstylus without demarcation; no distinction of anterior and posterior lobes; proctiger larger than epandrium. Epandrium and surstyli form an inverted U-shape when viewed posteriorly. Glans of phallus well developed with sclerotised curved hook-like structure. Female with 2 small round well-sclerotised spermathecae.

Ocellar triangle black with well developed ocellar setae (as long as orbital seta), postocellar seta well developed. Gena fulvous with four setae, post ocular setae thin and black. Face fulvous and unmarked; antenna fulvous with first flagellomere (third segment) pointed apically, arista plumose.</paragraph>
<paragraph id="0112E60B9254FFB5FF5CFB70F40EA6F9" blockId="1.[151,1437,1083,1974]" pageId="1" pageNumber="426">Thorax: Scutum unicolorous, yellowish orange/fulvous without any dark markings and with well developed chaetotaxy; 2 scapular setae, 1 postpronotal lobe seta; 1 anterior notopleural seta; 1 posterior notopleural seta; 1 presutural supra-alar seta; 1 postsutural supra-alar seta, 1 dorsocentral seta, 1 postalar seta, 1 intra-alar seta, 1 prescutellar acrostichal seta. Pleura fulvous with single katepisternal, anepisternal and anepimeral setae. Scutellum fulvous with two pairs of scutellar setae. Legs: all segments fulvous, fore femur with row of spines, mid tibia with 1 apical spine.</paragraph>

Characterized by face largely whitish yellow with a broad black basal band; scutellum black; scutum with dense grey-pollinose area not interrupted behind suture and reaching anterior margin between postpronotal lobes; yellow postpronotal lobe and broad anepisternal stripe reaching postpronotal lobe dorsally; wing with broad broad costal band from cell sc to wing apex, transverse band from stigma evanescing before hind margin and united with transverse discal band at R-M crossvein and a tooth-like subapical band largely fused with costal band; abdomen black with dense, transverse bands of silvery-grey pubescence on tergites II and IV.

The configuration of the male aedeagal median lobe is the best arbiter for identification, with the rounded lobe apex more or less symmetrically expanded dorsoventrally in males of this species, even given the infraspecific variation present in this structure (Fig. 108), versus a median lobe apex with a dorsal &quot;crochet hook&quot; expansion in males of
