It occurs at a large variety of habitats, ranging from wetlands and ponds to slow-flowing stretches of rivers and lake shores and is often found far from suitable breeding sites, also in urban contexts. The apparent absence from Lake Lugano and other sites in the Como Province could be attributed to the limited data available for this area.</paragraph>
