We have examined one male and one female from the FMNH which are clearly syntypes of
<taxonomicName id="63A1C51C14E7038CAAA7D71A0B8114AB" lsidName="Q. bucharensis" pageId="10" pageNumber="127" rank="species" species="bucharensis">Q. bucharensis</taxonomicName>
. Of them, a male specimen was earlier dissected and its aedeagus must have been glued on the card point beside the specimen, but was obviously lost. Since there were no publications with the structure of
<taxonomicName id="07B44243D11D3CA3A0E5C5E662DCB8DE" lsidName="Q. bucharensis" pageId="10" pageNumber="127" rank="species" species="bucharensis">Q. bucharensis</taxonomicName>
aedeagus, the identity of this species remains ambiguous. An additional two females from NHMW with the same locality labels as in the original description but without
<normalizedToken id="D379E9535E883F112801E42F86BD7742" originalValue="Bernhauer’s">Bernhauer's</normalizedToken>
handwritten type labels, seem conspecific with both mentioned syntypes even though they are somewhat smaller than the latter. Their earlier identifications as
<taxonomicName id="929658CADFD65D867864FE1FA3F3A665" lsidName="Q. solskyi" pageId="10" pageNumber="127" rank="species" species="solskyi">Q. solskyi</taxonomicName>
, evident from the labels, are wrong because of the following characters: chaetotaxy of head with posterior frontal puncture closer to posterior margin of eye than to nuchal ridge, larger eyes, head longer than wide and as long and as wide as elytra.

comes from localities rather remote from each other. Given that and the body size

among the examined specimens from different localities, it is possible that they are not conspecific. On the other hand, significant intraspecific variability in body size and proportions is usual in some
<taxonomicName id="06D68AC2B584D42F8B36BF45B9898184" class="Insecta" family="Staphylinidae" genus="Microsaurus" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Microsaurus" order="Coleoptera" pageId="11" pageNumber="128" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Microsaurus</taxonomicName>
species. More extensive material including males is needed to clarify the case.
