<paragraph pageId="4" pageNumber="63">Male. Body dark reddish brown, darker or black on caudal segments (Fig. 1). Eyes brown and ocelli yellowish. Antennae, upper lip, mandible, labial palpi and maxillary palpomeres brown. Legs reddish brown with coxae and trochanter brown. Abdominal sternites reddish brown with the middle of anterior three sternites brown (Fig. 2).</paragraph>

<paragraph pageId="4" pageNumber="63">Vertex and face punctate, the former exposed. Anterior margin of pronotum smooth, or weakly concave; anterior half of pronotum slightly depressed, the floor punctured, denser laterally; posterior half punctured sparsely and almost evenly, without tubercles (Fig. 21). Tegmina and wings well developed, extending beyond end of abdomen, sometimes mutilated (Fig. 1). Radius of tegmen with a long apical posterior branch, which has accessory branches, or apical posterior branch absent; median vein is simple or branched (Figs 80-81). Radial vein of hind wing with posterior branch medially; median vein branched terminally or not; cubitus with 4-5 complete and 5-6 incomplete branches (Figs 89-90). Anterior ventral margin of front femur with 1-3 spines and a small distal spine, hind margin with a large distal spine. Abdominal tergites punctured, the punctures denser laterally and caudally; T5-T7 with gradually increased holes on the anterolateral corners, minute sparse hairs sometimes visible on the surfaces; caudal angles of T6 weakly explored; lateral margins of T7 slightly uneven, caudal angles oblique, large and tapering (Fig. 22). Abdominal sternites densely punctured, the punctations larger and denser caudally; hind margin of the last sternite entire (Fig. 23). Supra-anal plate densely punctured, coarser than abdominal tergites; hind margin with 5 subacute and symmetrically slender teeth, which are deflexed and widely spaced, the largest one situated in the middle; teeth with margin smooth or small acute spines between the teeth, sometimes teeth fused together; lateral angles larger than the medial tooth. Cercus without setae dorsally, ventral surface convex with dense hairs (Fig. 24). Anterior margin of subgenital plate concave, anterolateral corners rounded; lateral margins concave (Fig. 25).</paragraph>

Length: 1.73-2.17 mm (avg. 2.02 mm); width: 1.50-1.81 mm (avg. 1.66 mm). Body elongate oval, widest behind humeri, piceous with the apices of the elytra and the legs typically castaneous to rufescent, the ground punctation fine but distinct; frons depressed along midline, lacking secondary punctures; supraorbital stria complete, frontal stria fine, interrupted at middle for ca. width of labrum, inner ends weakly recurved dorsad; labrum weakly emarginate; mandibles both with distinct inner marginal tooth, that of left mandible slightly larger; pronotal disk with few coarser secondary punctures at sides and row of coarse punctures along posterior margin; prescutellar impression present but weak; marginal pronotal stria complete along sides and front, not distinctly crenulate anteriorly; submarginal pronotal stria absent; elytra with single, complete epipleural stria, outer subhumeral stria present in apical half, inner subhumeral stria absent; dorsal striae 1-4 complete, 4th rarely abbreviated at base, 1 and 2 weaker apically, 5th stria present in apical half, sutural stria present in apical two-thirds; propygidium with small, sparse secondary punctures, mainly in basal half; pygidium with ground punctation only; prosternal lobe evenly rounded, with complete marginal stria; prosternal lobe with two complete striae converging slightly toward front, the intervening punctures not sexually dimorphic in density; mesoventrite weakly projecting, with complete marginal stria, continued at sides by postmesocoxal stria which diverges to sides, ending freely before reaching middle of metepisternum; mesometaventral stria straight to angulate at middle, often reaching middle of mesoventrite, continued at sides by well-impressed lateral metaventral stria which reaches middle of metacoxa; 1st abdominal ventrite with complete inner lateral stria, the outer generally abbreviated from both base and apex; protibia with outer margin distinctly rounded, widest near middle, with five weakly developed teeth bearing marginal spines; protarsal claws of both sexes strongly bent

. However, it is clearly and easily distinguished from any of these by its thin elytral striae, modified protarsal claws (in both sexes), and more diffuse reddish coloration of the elytra only. The aedeagus is also quite distinct from any of these, particularly in the obvious ventral process of the tegmen, and in the short proximal apodemes of the median lobe.
