<paragraph pageId="0" pageNumber="10095">Male holotype: Total length 5.25; prosoma, length 2.55, width 1.80; sternum length 1.43, width 1.05; chelicerae, length 0.75, width 0.30; opisthosoma, length 5.25. Carapace uniformly brown, with a fovea in the posterior half (Fig. 1a, c). All eyes subequal, AME circular, separated from each other by their own diameter, ALE oval, touching AME. PME oval to subtriangular, touching, larger than AME. PLE oval, slightly smaller than ALE, separated from PME by more of one PLE diameter. Clypeus vertical, large one diameter of AME. Chelicerae brown, with a few scattered thin setae on anterior surface, promarginal rim with three very small teeth spaced closely to fang base, retromarginal rim spineless. Sternum smooth, yellow brown, shield-shaped with a thin border (Fig. 1b). Abdomen grey with frontal row of curved hairs and a scutum covering about 10% of abdominal dorsal surface area (Fig. 1a, c). Legs yellowish to yellow-brown (Fig. 1a, c), leg formula 4123, measurements as in Table 1.</paragraph>

Male palp (Fig. 2a, b, c, Fig. 5a, c, e): Distinctive retrolateral tibial apophysis is not presented, hence distal part of tibia retrolateral is strongly chitinized and dark colored. The embolus is slender, basally prolaterally inserted, extends across the broad and flat conductor (sensu

), circling more than half of the tegulum. Median apophysis large, hook-shaped.

<paragraph pageId="0" pageNumber="10095">Female paratype: Total length 6.00; prosoma, length 2.63, width 1.80; sternum length 1.50, width 1.05; opisthosoma, length 3.38 (Fig. 3a, c). All characters as described for male. Leg measurements as in Table 2.</paragraph>

The somatic characters of the new species correspond to those of the genus
<taxonomicName class="Arachnida" family="Gnaphosidae" genus="Heser" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Heser" order="Araneae" pageId="0" pageNumber="10095" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Heser</taxonomicName>
, but the genitalia are distinctive and separate well the new species from all other congeners. Morphologically, the new species resembles

(Fig. 1b, d) but the male has longer embolus, and smaller and flattened conductor (sensu

), as well as lacks distinctive retrolateral tibial apophysis (Fig. 2a, c, e). Female has distinctive epygine and vulva, characterized by well-defined copulatory openings leading to coiled insemination ducts, connected with coiled spermathecae (see Figs 4c, d, 6c, d for comparison).

Teeth not embedded; labiolingually compressed, the sides not concave. Upper symphysial teeth usually abruptly larger than adjacent teeth; lower symphysial teeth subequal to adjacent teeth. Lips medially narrow; lower lip slightly tapering or not, rather square at corner; often with fleshy hair-like protuberances on lower lip.

<paragraph id="C3E540A031157DD1144046186D5E27E7" pageNumber="45">Pectoral and pelvic fins always reaching caudad beyond 3rd anal-fin spine. Filamentous rays of dorsal fin extending to mid-caudal fin. One or two pored scales of lateral line continuing onto caudal fin; usually no subsidiary scales present elsewhere between caudal-fin rays. Interradial scale rows on dorsal and anal fin imbricated(i.e. with supplementary scales), up to 6 scales long.</paragraph>
<paragraph id="C964B73E85DB47AD2FB86DD08F40F0F5" pageNumber="45">Gut simple, with secondary loops. Peritoneum heavily pigmented dorsoanteriorly. Genital papilla globose and distally pigmented in females, tip triangular and immaculate in males.</paragraph>
<paragraph id="673D55872D593D9794A87F9D6411519F" pageNumber="45">No interorbital bars, but snout darkened; suborbital streak, if visible, posteriorly sharp; opercular spot usually not distinct. Eyes metallic blue in life. Longitudinal stripe diffuse but complete, extending from orbit to caudal fin. Bars on side of body diffuse, sometimes absent or incomplete; 1st bar V-shaped with coalescent arms, like an inverted triangle, inclined on head; medial intensification of 3rd bar a circular spot. Bars not extending onto dorsal fin. Ocellus on dorsal fin of mature females starting on 8th or 9th spine and ending between 11th and 13th spine. Three hyaline rows of dots on soft dorsal fin, iridescent blue in life. About 6 rows of light spots on sides (golden in life in thoracic region), smaller than scales; breast and throat orange in life; a black triangular region ventral to pectoral fin in females. Axil of pectoral fin somewhat dark to black; base of pectoral fin whitish. Caudal blotch mainly on peduncle, situated across lateral line; coalescent with last bar and pointed ventrally.</paragraph>
