Clypeus brown, transverse, with light luster. Mandibles dark brown with darkened and sharp apex, very massive, curved, shiny, relatively short, with dense pubescence and coarse punctures. Cheeks with sparse pubescence. Antennae unicolor, black, thickened

Entità nuova per la flora dItalia (le fotografie digitali sono disponibili presso gli autori). Una dozzina dindividui molto giovani, ridotti a poche foglie basali; solo in Via San Giovanni del Cantone lesposizione più soleggiata permise lo sviluppo delle foglie tipiche deglindividui maturi, profondamente lobate, e di un capolino, poi non apertosi. Osservata fiorita ai piedi di un muro in periferia di Modena a ottobre 2016; la pianta resisté allinverno, ma scomparve allinizio di giugno dellanno seguente per una pulizia della vegetazione spontanea lungo il marciapiede. Gli esemplari censiti avevano foglie coriacee lucide, verde scuro, con picciolo lungo e lamina decorrente, oblanceolate quelle basali, pennato-partite o pennato-sette le altre, debolmente ragnatelose sulla pagina superiore e bianco-feltrose su quella inferiore; peduncolo fiorale con peluria sparsa cigliato-ragnatelosa; ricettacolo sub-circolare a base tronca, con 2 serie di squame interne strette, oblunghe, triangolari, acutissime, con margini scariosi, e 1 serie di squame esterne in tutto simili alle precedenti, ma con margini cigliati; capolino unico, con fiori ligulati giallo intenso, con una macchia bruno scuro alla base e una banda rosso-brunastra sulla faccia esterna dei petali, e fiori tubulosi giallo intenso.
