<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Arctiidae" genus="Lophocampa" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Lophocampa andensis" order="Lepidoptera" pageId="15" pageNumber="62" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="andensis">Lophocampa andensis</taxonomicName>
is the smallest species of the group, with the length of the male forewing less than 20 mm. It is also distinguished from other species by the rounded apex of the forewings and by the spots between M2 and CuA1 on the forewing subterminal band, which are at least as large as the others.
