. Until now the species was only known from the type-locality (Oriximiná municipality, state of

) and from northwestern

, between the Negro and Branco Rivers. Here we extend its distribution to new localities north of the Amazon River (e.g., in
<collectingRegion id="49D773AF2F64FFEF4C59FD12FD5DFD6A" box="[561,642,686,710]" country="Brazil" name="Amapa" pageId="30" pageNumber="181">Amapá</collectingRegion>
state), and to the MadeiraPurus interfluvium, south of it. These new data indicate a wider, but probably discontinuous and relictual distribution.

is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits primary open forest, open vegetation enclaves, and also perianthropic environments, where it is found among leaf litter and fallen palm leaves in forested areas, and grass and litter of open vegetation areas (Ávila-Pires 1995; Caldwell &amp; Vitt 1999). Vanzolini &amp; Rebouças-Spieker (1969) reported a large population of this species in the town of Oriximiná, both on vertical and horizontal substrates.
