Le corps est lisse et glabre. Le rostre, horizontal, est très légèrement sinueux (d’abord convexe puis concave) et porte habituellement sept dents. Les trois premières sont presque équidistantes et de tailles très voisines, les suivantes voient leur espacement et leur taille diminuer au fur et à mesure que l’on va vers l’extrémite du rostre; la dernière dent est souvent très réduite. La longueur du rostre varie légèrement avec le sexe: chez les mâles, son extrémité se situe entre les deux tiers et les quatre cinquièmes du deuxième segment du pédoncule antennulaire; chez les femelles entre la base et l’extrémité du troisième segment de ce même pédoncule. La première dent rostrale se situe juste au niveau du fond de l’orbite; en arrière on trouve une dent épigastrique implantée au tiers antérieur de la carapace (rostre exclu), donc un peu en arrière du niveau de la dent hépatique. La carène adrostrale est marquée et se prolonge, en arrière du rostre, sur une longueur voisine du cinquième de celle séparant la première dent rostrale de la dent épigastrique. La carène postrostrale, en fort relief et aiguë, s’étend jusqu’au bord postérieur de la carapace. Cette dernière porte trois épines, antennaire, hépatique et branchiostège. L’antennaire est la plus forte, l’hépatique est égale aux deux tiers de l’antennaire, la branchiostège, implantée sur le bord antérieur de la carapace, est très petite et se prolonge en arrière par une longue carène qui, d’abord assez droite, se recourbe ensuite nettement vers le haut. <paragraph id="BA3E0144BC73FFB3FFA6FD114F9FFB70" blockId="3.[113,647,204,1701]" pageId="3" pageNumber="260">Les antennules ont un pédoncule qui dépasse du tiers environ de la longueur de son dernier article l’extrémité du scaphocérite chez les mâles et qui s’arrête au niveau de la base de l’épine de ce même scaphocérite chez les femelles. Le développement des flagelles antennulaires varie avec le sexe; si l’on considère le plus grand des deux flagelles, nous avons trouvé pour lui, chez les femelles, une longueur comprise entre 0,65 et 0,75 fois celle du pédoncule antennulaire (mesuré du creux de l’orbite à l’extrémité du troisième segment) contre 0,95 à 1,05 chez les mâles. Le prosartéma atteint le niveau de la base de la cornée de la face supérieure de l’oeil. Le stylocérite atteint les sept dixièmes environ de la face latérale de la cornée.</paragraph>

C’est ainsi que les cinquièmes ont leur extrémité qui peut se situer soit en deçà de celle du scaphocérite d’une longueur égale à 2,8 fois celle de leur dactyle, soit au-delà d’une longueur voisine de 0,2 fois celle du dactyle. Le basis et l’ischion des premiers portent seuls une épine qui est d’assez grande taille (surtout celle de l’ischion). Tous les péréiopodes portent un exopodite peu développé (ceux des quatrièmes et cinquièmes, quasiment embryonnaires, ne se distinguent qu’à un fort grossissement). Seuls les premiers et deuxièmes péréiopodes portent un épipodite; ceux-ci sont de grande taille et bifurqués.</paragraph>

<paragraph id="BA3E0144BC73FFB3FD73FD914BECFB50" blockId="3.[676,1209,204,1701]" pageId="3" pageNumber="260">L’abdomen a ses deux premiers segments qui présentent une section dorsale transversale régulièrement arrondie, tandis que la section de la partie toujours visible du troisième est faiblement ogivale dans sa partie postérieure; les trois derniers segments sont carénés dorsalement, la carène se terminant par une petite épine, de taille très voisine sur les quatrième et cinquième segments, légèrement plus grande sur le sixième. Ce dernier, chez les grands adultes, a une longueur qui, mesurée entre le condyle d’articulation et l’extrémité du lobe du bord latéral postérieur, est 1,85 fois celle du cinquième, mesurée entre les condyles d’articulation; ses faces latérales portent une petite épine à leur angle postéro-inférieur. Le telson, dont la longueur est très voisine de celle du sixième segment, porte une paire de grandes épines latérales fixes, implantées aux sept dixièmes de sa longueur; il n’y a pas d’épines mobiles.</paragraph>
