Colour. Black, with grey pruinosity. Frontal vitta black; fronto-orbital plate, face, parafacial, gena and antenna black with grey pruinosity; palpus brown; mesonotum metallic black with one silver dusted central vitta in front of the acrostichals, one along postpronotum and notopleuron, one running between intra-alars and supra-alars, and another on side of scutellum (between basal and discal setae); pleura grey to silver pruinose; fore and mid legs dark brown, hind legs paler; haltere yellow; calypters with white edges, lower calypter white to yellow, upper calypter on outer half yellowish/yellow and opaque; wing without dark markings; abdomen with a shifting tessellated pattern, last tergite with silver pruinosity.

Body length: 7.0–8.0 mm; wing length: 6.0 mm.

Eyes bare but with the usual minute and scattered hairs, separated at level of anterior ocellus by about 0.13 of head width; frons divergent towards lunule; ocellar triangle with a strong pair of setae and many setulae; 18 pairs of frontal setae, the uppermost 3 or 4 weaker; postpedicel about 1.4–2.0 times the length of pedicel; pedicel with 2 setae; arista plumose, with 16–19 cilia, bare apicad, with some secondary plumes as far as level of 6th to 7th cilia; vibrissa shorter than arista, 1–2 strong supravibrissal setae, half as long as vibrissa, and many other setulae that extend to level of basal fourth of postpedicel; 5–6 subvibrissal setae followed by 8 genal setae.</paragraph>

Acrostichals 0+1; dorsocentrals 0+3 (the first weaker); intra-alars 1+1; presutural 1; prealar 1, strong; supra-alars 2; postpronotals 3 (or with a fourth, weaker inner seta); notopleuron with 2 long, subequal setae and covered with ground-setulae; postalars 2; intrapostalar 1; scutellum with 1 basal, 1 latero-discal and 1 apical setae, and latero-ventrally with many setae, the basalmost ones downcurved; postalar wall bare; suprasquamal ridge bare; proepisternal depression bare; proepimeron with about 4 long setae and many setulae; prosternum broad and bare; anepisternum with a posterior row of about 7 setae, with 3–4 weak setae upcurved on upper-anterior corner, and covered with short setulae; katepisternals 1+2; anepimeron extensively setulose; katepimeron bare; anatergite bare; katatergite setulose. Legs: fore femur with a posterodorsal row of setae on apical two-thirds, becoming shorter basad, a complete posteroventral row of setae and a row of some much shorter setae on posterior basal third; fore tibia with 1 anterodorsal, 1 dorsal and 1 posteroventral preapical setae, a ventral apical seta and a brush-like ctenidium on ventral surface; mid femur with a tubercle at apex of anterior to posterodorsal surfaces bearing about 6 short spines that continue as about 4 posterodorsal to posterior setae, all arranged in a U-shape; mid tibia with an anterodorsal ctenidium of short spines on basal fourth, continued as short setae as far as middle, a row of 5–8 short and strong setae, an excavation on anterior to anterodorsal surfaces, 1 anterodorsal and 1 dorsal preapical setae, and 1 anteroventral and 1 ventral apical setae; hind femur with an anteroventral row of long and fine setae with a longer middle seta, an anterodorsal row of setae, ventral surface with a row of setae on basal half and about 3 setae on apical third, and a few posteroventral setulae on apical fourth; hind tibia with 2 long anteroventral setae on apical half, an anterodorsal row of short setae on basal two-thirds, the most apical longer, 1 long posterodorsal seta followed by some short and fine setae ending in a posterior ctenidium, 3–5 weak and short posteroventral setae, 1 dorsal and 1 anterodorsal preapical setae and 1 anteroventral and no posteroventral apical setae; hind tarsus without modifications in shape or bristling. Wing with a uniform covering of microtrichia; dm-cu sinuous; stem-vein bare on dorsal surface, and ventrally with about 7 short setulae before humeral cross-vein and bare after humeral crossvein; R2+3 bare on dorsal and ventral surfaces; R4+5 setulose from base to r-m on dorsal and ventral surfaces; 3–4 strong setae on basicosta.</paragraph>
