This species is separated from other species in the group by the following combination of characters: dorsum sexually dimorphic (tomentous in males, shiny in females); clypeus subtrapezoidal; pronotal base rounded to weakly emarginate; scutellum impunctate; and form of the parameres. The protibial teeth are frequently entirely abraded in males.
