This species can be distinguished from other Afrotropical 
<taxonomicName id="42A73A5EC77586B1E82895965AB99B8E" lsidName="" pageId="0" pageNumber="33" rank="subfamily" subfamily="Rhyssinae">Rhyssinae</taxonomicName>
by the epicnemial carina only just reaching the mesopleuron. The fore wing colour pattern makes it instantly recognisable.
