The species is defined by the rounded head that is not very broad, wide neck, narrow and deep interocular excavation, antennae black with reddish 3 and 4 articles, antennal scape relatively large, black labrum that is semi-circular in shape, maxillary and labial palps dark brown in colour, penultimate item of labial palp golden, width of pronotum smallest at 2/3 of the length, top of pronotum subrectilinear in lateral view, elytra subparallel with rounded shoulders, elytral apex broadly truncated, elytral sculpture extends to the apex and consists of polygonal pits.
