A lentic species restricted to forested areas. In West 
<collectingCountry id="F3687631A73BFFB139C4FE30BE3449BF" box="[199,298,439,462]" name="Malaysia" pageId="20" pageNumber="117">Malaysia</collectingCountry>
the species was collected from shallow and shaded, more permanent forest pools in primary and second growth (older rubber plantations) lowland forest. The bottom consists of mud and a thick layer of rotten leaves. Probably the species still occurs in the Swamp Forest of Nee Soon.
