4-15 m tall, 8-15 cm diam.; young twigs and petioles glabrous.

At elevations of 850-1800 m (except the single specimen collected in Pastaza (Ecuador) at 360 m). Flowering: July, October-December; fruiting February, July, October and December.</paragraph>
