This species was described from an unspecified number of specimens from “
<collectorName id="26D357D171035044FB5DF90242FA9BB2" box="[1238,1426,1677,1703]" pageId="1" pageNumber="2">Coll. F. Hauser</collectorName>
” finally traced to the ZMHB and I was able to borrow the type series. Despite the fact that the original description lists only a single size, implying a single specimen, there are
<specimenCount id="9D20F98E71035044FC11F952433E9BE2" box="[922,1110,1757,1783]" pageId="1" pageNumber="2" type="generic">three specimens</specimenCount>
in the series sent from Berlin. None of the three is labelled as “Typus” in the normal manner by Obenberger and none has any label indicating that he ever saw or determined them. It cannot be demonstrated that this is the original type series, but after more than 20 years of looking, I’m satisfied that the designation of a
<typeStatus id="549D8CA571035044FBA2F8DA43FD9A7A" box="[1065,1173,1877,1903]" pageId="1" pageNumber="2" type="lectotype">lectotype</typeStatus>
will stabilize this species’ definition. The header label indicates “
<collectorName id="26D357D171035044FD32F8F244D79A82" box="[697,959,1917,1943]" pageId="1" pageNumber="2">Ch. Hauseri Ob. Afr.</collectorName>
or.” and the
<specimenCount id="9D20F98E71035044FBE2F8F242429A82" box="[1129,1322,1917,1943]" pageId="1" pageNumber="2" type="generic">three specimens</specimenCount>
are each labelled “Afr. or. Jkutha”. The Obenberger collection in Prague (
<collectionCode id="ED37AAC271035044FC07F82A448B9AAA" box="[908,995,1957,1983]" country="Czech Republic" httpUri="http://grbio.org/cool/hj12-2xm7" name="National Museum Prague" pageId="1" pageNumber="2">NMPC</collectionCode>
) contains no specimens of this taxon. Therefore a
<typeStatus id="549D8CA571035044FEB9F84246F59AF2" box="[306,413,1997,2023]" pageId="1" pageNumber="2" type="lectotype">lectotype</typeStatus>
has been designated (

) from these
