This is the typical habitat of I. galani nov. in Sanabria and is syntopic with Lacerta schreiberi. The lizard is especially abundant near the glacial lakes of this area. Iberolacerta galani nov. inhabits the slate slab accumulations by the road and track taluses such as the one seen in the centre of the picture (which constitutes the border between the provinces of León and Orense). It is syntopic with Podarcis bocagei in this area." ;
